Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026. This policy explains what personal data MAWG collects when you use mawg.uk, why we collect it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What we collect
When you order: name, billing and delivery address, email, phone number, the items you buy, and payment confirmation (we never see or store your full card number). When you create an account: login details and order history. When you contact us: your message and contact details. When you browse: IP address, browser type, pages viewed and cookie identifiers (see our Cookie Policy). When you subscribe: your email address.

3. Why we use it and our lawful basis
To process and deliver your order, take payment and handle returns – performance of a contract. To keep records of sales and comply with tax and consumer law – legal obligation. To verify high-value orders and prevent fraud, and to secure the site – legitimate interests. To reply to your enquiries – legitimate interests or steps prior to a contract. To send marketing emails – only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link. To set non-essential cookies – consent.

4. Who we share it with
We share only what each provider needs: payment processors (for example Stripe and PayPal) to take payment and screen for fraud; delivery carriers (for example Royal Mail, DPD and DHL) to deliver your order; our website host and email provider to run the store and send order emails; our accountants and professional advisers where required by law; and law enforcement or regulators where we are legally obliged. We do not sell your data. Some providers process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers are protected by UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

5. How long we keep it
Order and invoice records: six years after the end of the tax year of the transaction, as required by HMRC. Account data: until you ask us to close the account, then deleted within 30 days. Enquiries: up to two years. Marketing consent: until you unsubscribe. Website logs: up to 12 months.

6. Your rights
You may ask us to provide a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or transfer it to another provider, and you may withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@mawg.uk; we respond within one month. You are not charged for exercising these rights.

7. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, payment details are handled entirely by our payment processors, and access to order data is limited to staff who need it.

9. Children
Our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes
We will post any changes here and update the date at the top.
